Spotify has over 250 million users in more than 75 countries and is one of the best podcast directories to add to your show.

We’ve included easy-to-follow instructions below to help you add your podcast on Spotify.

Ready? Let’s go!

How to upload your podcast to Spotify

Step 1 Create a Spotify account. To avoid errors when uploading your show, we recommend using the same email address as your podcast host.

Step 2. Click “Get Started” and paste the link to your RSS feed.

RSS.com is your podcast host. Your RSS feed can be found under “My Podcast”.

Click the “RSS feed” button below your show description to copy your feed to your clipboard.

You can then paste your RSS feed to Spotify.

Step 3. Next, enter the details of your podcast, including its category, language and country (select RSS.com if hosting with us).

Step 4. Complete the form and click “Submit”.

Great job, you’re done!

Are you getting errors when you submit your podcast to Spotify?

Sometimes, Spotify will display an error message when users try to add their podcast’s RSS feed.

Here are the most common errors. How to fix them:

  • A globally unique identifier (GUID), is required for your podcast.

Your podcast feed is empty if you haven’t uploaded any episodes to your podcast host. Spotify will not be able find your episodes until you upload them.

Once you have uploaded the first episode, you can resubmit the RSS feed of your podcast here.

  • The podcast RSS feed does not contain an email address. Your email must be verified.

An email address must be associated with your RSS feed. This feed is pulled from your podcast’s RSS feed. Spotify requires email verification to verify that you are the owner of your podcast.

You will need to correct the email address used to verify your podcast.

How long until your show is live on Spotify?

You now know how to upload your podcast to Spotify.

While many shows can be live in a matter of hours, it could take up to five days for them to appear.

Spotify is not sending you an email to notify you that your podcast has been published. You’ll have to check back with Spotify.
